Records of conference proceedings of the Municipal Council of Chania, 1898-1940

Scientific supervisor: Christos Loukos, Professor of Modern History at the University of Crete.

The object of the programme is systematic research of the extant conference proceedings of the Municipal Council of Chania, of the period 1898-1940 (consisting of 60 volumes), referring to all aspects of life in the city of Chania, and it aims at creating reliable infrastructure material mainly in the form of data bases. Within the Foundation goals is the expansion of the programme to other large cities of Crete. The three research programmes of the Foundation, “Cretan Portrait, 19th - 20th century”, “Records of conference proceedings of the Municipal Council of Chania, 1898-1940" and "Eleftherios Venizelos in scholar and popular tradition" have been approved and are funded by the General Secretariat for Research and Technology.
