“Emmanuel Emm. Mihailakis” award

In order to promote the research on the work and era of Eleftherios Venizelos, the National Research Foundation “Eleftherios K. Venizelos” gave the award “Emmanuel Emm. Mihailakis” during the academic years 2007-2008 and 2008-2009.
The general subject for candidates was a research project associated with Greek history of the end of the 19th and the first half of the 20th century. To qualify for the award, the candidates had to be undergraduate or postgraduate students of the Departments of History or Political Science of Greek universities.
Award sponsor: “Emmanuel Emm. Mihailakis”, associate, grand sponsor and benefactor of the Foundation.

Academic Year 2008-2009
Subject: “State of law and urban development in the political thinking and action of Eleftherios Venizelos”.

  • 2nd prize: Leonidas Archaniotakis, postgraduate student of the Department of Political Science of the School of Social Sciences of the University of Crete.
  • 3rd prize: Nikolaos Theodorakis, student of the Department of Law of the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens.

Academic year 2007-2008
Subject: “The physiognomy of the political environment of Eleftherios Venizelos during the period 1910-1920”

  • 1st prize: Anna Ioannidou, graduate student of the School of Political Sciences of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and student of the Department of International and European, Economics and Political Studies of the University of Macedonia.
