20 Jun The Venizelos Foundation at the Chania Book Festival.
The relevance of Eleftherios Venizelos and his political legacy in today’s society will once again be highlighted through two book presentations co-organized with the National Research Foundation “Eleftherios K. Venizelos” during the 4th Chania Book Festival, taking place from June 25 to 29, 2025, at the Old Harbor of Chania.
Specifically, on Wednesday, June 25, the following events will take place:
–8:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m., Megalo Arsenali – Room 2
Professor Emeritus of Constitutional Law at the University of Athens, Nikos C. Alivizatos, will discuss his book “Mavrokordatos and Trikoupis, Venizelos and Karamanlis: The Architects of the Constitution” with the Mayor of Chania, Panagiotis Simandirakis, and Nikolaos Papadakis (Papadis), Director of the National Research Foundation.
Moderator: Giorgos Koukourakis, political scientist and Deputy Director of the National Research Foundation “Eleftherios K. Venizelos.”

Historian Christos Triantafyllou will discuss his book “The Second Life of Eleftherios Venizelos” with historian and Professor of Modern and Contemporary History at the University of Athens, Vaggelis Karamanolakis; Giorgos Koukourakis, political scientist and Deputy Director of the National Research Foundation “Eleftherios K. Venizelos”; and Elia Vardaki, PhD in Social Anthropology and researcher at the Technical University of Crete.
