The Controller of your Personal Data is the Private Law Entity under the name “National Research Foundation Eleftherios K. Venizelos”, which is based in Chania, at Elena Venizelou Square, P.C. 73133, as legally represented.

In accordance with the applicable Personal Data Protection legislation, the processing of data will be carried out, where appropriate, either after having obtained your consent as regards the processing of your personal data for one or more specific purposes or as part of a contract in which you may be a contracting party after a request in your behalf prior to the conclusion of that contract or as part of our compliance with the obligations established by the applicable legislative framework or in order for the Foundation to pursue its legitimate interests.

Purposes of Personal Data processing

Your Personal Data is collected for specific, explicit and legitimate purposes, which are disclosed to you before you submit it, and its processing is limited to that which is compatible with those purposes.

We may collect and process your Personal Data for the fulfilment of the legitimate purposes of the Foundation which are specified in detail in its Statutes and organization and indicatively to provide information to you about our activities (competitions, educational events and actions), how you may participate in them, prizes you may be entitled to receive, your visit to our premises, the potential cooperation with you on the basis of an employment contract, a works contract or a contract for the provision of independent services, the joint organization of activities and events, etc.

In particular, as regards the contests organised by the Foundation, for which it is essential to collect basic personal data of the participants, it is hereby stated that the website publishes only the names of those who have won a prize and their texts in case of essay contests.

In addition, collection and processing of your Personal Data may be carried out for the protection of our legitimate interests, the management of our operations and the infrastructure of our information systems, in accordance with our internal policies and procedures, including those relating to the operation of our information systems, data and application hosting, data analysis, file management and internal control procedures, in order for the Foundation to pursue its legitimate interests.

With whom we share your Personal Data

In respect of the aforementioned purposes, we may share your Personal Data with third parties who provide special services, such as legal advisers or security and facilities management consultants, and other third parties, with whom we cooperate in the implementation of our activities. Moreover, if requested and in order to comply with the legislation in force, we may disclose your Personal Data to public and judicial authorities; namely, courts, tax authorities and prosecutors.

Ways to protect Personal Data

In the event that in the context of the above purposes we are required to sent your Personal Data outside the European Economic Area, we will do so only after having obtained the proper guarantees (for instance, your personal data will be sent to a country for which the European Commission has ruled to provide adequate level of Personal Data protection or has signed the EU Standard Contractual Clauses).
