13 Mar Commemoration of the Therisso Revolution
The annual event commemorating the Therisso Revolution took place on Saturday, March 15, 2025, in Therisso. The keynote address was delivered by philologist and historian Ms. Stella Alygizaki.
The program included a memorial service, wreath-laying ceremony, a traditional rizitiko song performed by the “Therisso Revolution 1905” Association, and presentations by students from the Primary Schools of the Therisso Municipal Unit. Participants also visited the Museum–Headquarters of the Therisso Revolution. The day began with an Archpriestly Divine Liturgy and a memorial service.
The event was co-organized by the Regional Unit of Chania, the Municipality of Chania, the National Research Foundation “Eleftherios K. Venizelos,” and the “Therisso Revolution 1905” Association.
