23 Apr Panhellenic Student Essay Competition Awards Ceremony
As part of the two-day programme of events marking the 90th anniversary of the death of Eleftherios Venizelos, the awards ceremony for the Panhellenic Student Essay Competition for third-year Gymnasium and third-year Lyceum students took place on Saturday, 21 March. The competition is organised by the Foundation under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports. The theme of this year’s competition was: “Venizelos’ Leadership Model, 90 Years after His Death”.
For the third year of Gymnasium, first prize was awarded to Paschalia Kemanetzi (Hellenic College of Thessaloniki), second prize to Maximos Georgiou (Doukas School, Marousi) and third prize to Giorgos Oikonomou (4th Gymnasium of Corinth). For the third year of Lyceum, first prize was awarded to Olga Dafna (Souda General Lyceum) (photo), second prize to Dimitris Kolitsis (1st Model General Lyceum of Chalkida) and third prize to Alexandros Tzioras (American Farm School of Thessaloniki).
The prizes were sponsored by Giorgos and Effie Pamboukis (Gymnasium prizes), the Kalogeris Family in memory of Captain Giannis Kalogeris (first Lyceum prize), Argyro Chaniotaki-Smyrlaki in memory of Iosif Smyrlakis (second Lyceum prize), and Fali Vogiatzaki in memory of her father, Georgios Vogiatzakis (third Lyceum prize).
