On Sunday, March 28, 2021, the annual civil memorial service of Eleftherios and Sophocles Venizelos took place in Akrotiri, Ηania. The key-speaker was the President of the Committee “Greece 2021” Gianna Angelopoulou – Daskalaki. The event was organized by the National Research Foundation “Eleftherios K. Veniz1elos”, the Regional Unit of Ηania and the Municipality of Ηania and was broadcast live on the Foundation’s YouTube channel.

*All the necessary preventive measures against the spread of COVID-19 were respected at the event, and for this reason the attendance was strictly limited.
Also, on the occasion of the anniversary of Eleftherios Venizelos’ death, the cantata for choir and orchestra “Ode to Eleftherios Venizelos” by Giannis Mentzelopoulos is available on the internet, on the platforms Spotify, Anchor, Google podcasts, Apple podcasts. The work was performed by Sinfonietta – Chamber Orchestra of the Municipality of Hania and the Hania Choir, under the direction of Alexandros Myrat, at the Athens Concert Hall, in the big concert – tribute organized by the Foundation in January 2007.
