08 Feb Modern history meets the sciences at the Residence Museum of Eleftherios Venizelos
The new educational method Tinkering, introduced in the programmes of the Residence Museum of Eleftherios Venizelos in Halepa, has been warmly received by the educational community of Crete. This innovative pedagogical approach promotes creativity, experimentation and learning through hands-on activities. At the Venizelos Museum it is combined with modern Greek history through the exhibits of the Museum’s collection and sources from the Foundation’s Archive.
The implementation of the Tinkering method began in February with three workshops (Marble machine, Light play, Chain reaction) involving 40 classes from primary and secondary schools in the Chania region.
The Tinkering programmes at the museum in Halepa are the result of the Foundation’s collaboration with the Italian National Museum of Science and Technology Leonardo da Vinci, one of the leading institutions in the field of informal education in Europe.
