Berit Reiss-Andersen, President of the Nobel Peace Committee, was the keynote speaker at an event held in the courtyard of the “Eleftherios K. Venizelos” National Foundation in Halepa on Friday, June 30, 2023.
The introduction to Berit Reiss-Andersen’s speech was given by Panagiotis Perakis, President of the Council of European Bar Associations. Prior to that, Nikolaos Papadakis-Papadis, Director General of the “Eleftherios K. Venizelos” National Foundation, delivered a brief speech on the topic of “The Treaty of Lausanne and Venizelos’ contribution to peace in the Balkans and the Near East.”
The event was organized by the “Eleftherios K. Venizelos” National Foundation, the Municipality of Chania, and the Chania Bar Association. It was part of the activities conducted by the Council of Bar Associations of Europe, held on June 29 and 30, 2023, in Chania.
