Conference “Eleftherios Venizelos and the Greek city. City planning policies and sociopolitical realignments” (Hania, 24-27.10.2002).

The Foundation and the School of Architecture of the Technical University of Athens organised a conference at the Technical University of Crete (Chania), on the topic “Eleftherios Venizelos and the Greek city. Urban planning policies and socio-political changes”, (October 24-27).
The Minister for the Environment, Physical Planning and Public Works, Vaso Papandreou opened the conference.
The conference was attended by Professors at the Departments of Architecture, Geography and History of the Greek Universities, architects, Architecture and History PhD candidates.
The conference aimed at examining the policy of Venizelos and his governments in the fields of urban planning, new cities and towns organisation, as well as his educational policy in the technical sector.
The conference was organised under the auspices of the Ministry for the Environment, Physical Planning and Public Works, in collaboration with the Technical University of Crete and the Technical Chamber of Greece-West Crete Department and with the support of the Prefecture and the Municipality of Hania.
