1st Panhellenic Student Essay Competition Prize Awarding by the Minister of Education.

In a ceremony organised by the National Foundation "Eleftherios K. Venizelos" on March 29th, 2003, the prize awarding of the 1st Panhellenic Student Essay Competition by the Minister of Education, Petros Efthimiou, took place in the Venizelios Music Academy.
The competition, on the topic "The personality of Eleftherios Venizelos and his contribution in the evolution of Greece" was proclaimed by the Foundation under the auspices of the Ministry of National Education & Religious Affairs.
238 students from all over Greece participated in the competition and the essay evaluation was carried out in the Ministry of Education by two committees (first and second degree).
The prize winners were: Panagiota Tsarouhi, High school of Kalivia of the Prefecture of Aetoloakarnania (1st prize), Pelagia Andrianopoulou, Experimental High school of Tripoli (2nd prize) and Natalia Kotsani, Doukas college of Athens (3rd prize). The prizes were 1500, 900 and 600 Euros respectively.
In the first part of the event piano music pieces were interpreted by Aphroditi Mitsotaki and Nikos Perakis in the second part, the award ceremony was held and speeches were given by the Minister of Education and the Chairman of the Foundation, Metropolitan of Kissamos & Selino, Irineos Galanakis, while the CEO of the Foundation, Nikolaos E. Papadakis, referred to the established institution of the award and the educational work of the Foundation. The event closed with the Choir of Hania.
