Event dedicated to the memory of Nikolaos Plastiras.

As part of the tributes to the associates of Eleftherios Venizelos and on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the death of Nikolaos Plastiras, the Foundation in collaboration with the Municipality of Eleftherios Venizelos, organised an event on August 27th, 2003 in Mournies (Hania), the birth place of Venizelos.
In the event, introductory speeches were given by the mayor of the Municipality of Eleftherios Venizelos, Giorgos Polioudakis, the CEO of the Foundation, Nikolaos E. Papadakis, and the president of the Thessalian Association of Chania, Fanis Koukousoulas.
The speakers of the event were:
Ioannis Kakoudakis, Lieutenant General, CEO of the Military History Directorate, on the topic "The war activity of Nikolaos Plastiras", Giannis Stefanidis, Assistant Professor of Diplomatic History at the Faculty of Law of the University of Thessaloniki, on the topic "Governments of Nikolaos Plastiras, 1950- 1952", Thomas Stergiopoulos, Vice Chairman of the Historical Studies Centre “Nikolaos Plastiras”, on the topic "Nikolaos Plastiras: the patriot, the military man, the man, the great peace- maker".
The event closed with a brief speech by the Chairman of the Foundation, Metropolitan of Kissamos & Selino, Irineos.
