Event in Lasithi for 100 years of the Revolution of Theriso.

The Municipality of Neapolis and the Foundation organised an event on Saturday, December 17th, 2005, at the Theatre MINOA in Neapolis, for the presentation of the book by Georgios Mamakis "Ο νομός Λασίθίου κατά την επανάσταση του Θερίσου. Τεκμήρια Ιστορίας" (The prefecture of Lasithi during the revolution of Theriso. Historical Documents), published by the Municipality of Neapolis. The presentation was made by Antonios Spanoudakis, University Tutor – Writer, and an interposition was made by the Foundation CEO, Nikolaos Papadakis on the topic “The contemporary importance of the choices of Eleftherios Venizelos in Theriso”. A short speech was given by the Mayor of Neapolis Nikolaos Kastrinakis.
The inauguration of a photograph exhibition for Eleftherios Venizelos was held at the Municipal Library of Neapolis, which was open to the public and schools until the 21st of December 2005. A 12-minute DVD was also projected, on the topic “National Research Foundation “Eleftherios K. Venizelos”. 5 years”.
During the exhibition, the film by Vasilis Maros “Eleftherios Venizelos' Greece” was being projected to the public and schools.
