On the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the Unification of Crete with Greece, the Foundation organised events on November 30th, and on December 1st and 15th, 2003 in Hania.
The President of the Greek Republic, Konstantinos Stefanopoulos, attended the events. On December 1st, the main speaker was the Prime Minister of Cyprus, Glafkos Kliridis.

Sunday, November 30th, 2003 (Megalo Arsenali)
-18:00 Inauguration of the exhibition "90 years of the Balkan Wars and the Unification of Crete with Greece" (collaboration between the Ministry for the Aegean and Island Policy, the Greek Literary and Historical Archive and the Foundation).
-19:00 Speech by Konstantinos Svolopoulos, academic and professor at the University of Athens, on the topic "Eleftherios Venizelos and the unification of Crete with Greece".
- Speech by Emilia Kladou- Bletsa, architect, on the topic "Eleftherios Venizelos and the city of Hania".

-19:00 Speech by Glafkos Kliridis, former Prime Minister of Cyprus, on the topic "Eleftherios Venizelos as a man and a politician"
-Documentary with snapshots of the Unification
-The President of the Republic, Konstantinos Stefanopoulos, and the former Prime Minister of Cyprus, Glafkos Kliridis are acclaimed associates of the Foundation.
Monday, December 15th, 2003 (Regina Cinema)
-19:00 Concert of the Choir of Hania: "Kritis Megalinari", poems by Vassilis Haronitis and music by Giannis Mentzelopoulos.
The events were organised under the auspices of the Greek Parliament, with the support of the Ministry of Culture, the General Secretariat of the Region of Crete, the Metropolis of Kydonia & Apokoronas, the Prefecture and the Municipality of Hania and the Centre of Mediterranean Architecture.
On the occasion of the anniversary, the Foundation participated in the organisation of events (symposia, workshops, exhibitions) in Rethymno (December 5th,6th,7th) organised by the Historical Folklore Association of Rethymno, in Heraklio (December 11th,12th) organised by the Society of Cretan Historical Studies, in Αthens (December 14th) organised by the Pancretan Association of Athens and in Agios Nikolaos (December 20th) organised by the Society of Arts and Letters of Eastern Crete.
The inauguration of the exhibition “90 years of the Balkan Wars and the Unification of Crete with Greece”, was held in Hania on November 30th – after the end of the exhibition on December 4th it visited other capital cities of Crete.
