Kavala honors Eleftherios Venizelos.

On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Venizelos' death, a commemoration event for Eleftherios Venizelos was held on December 9th, 2006, at the Amphitheatre of the Prefecture of Kavala. The event was organised by the Cretan Fraternity of Kavala, the Prefecture of Kavala and the TEI (Technological Educational Institute) of Kavala, under the auspices of the Foundation.
The main speaker of the event was Nikolaos Roudometof, President of the Historical and Literary Archive of Kavala, on the topic “Venizelos in Kavala”. Short speeches were given by Nikolaos Papadakis, CEO of the Foundation, Theodoros Kaliontzis, Prefect of Kavala, Anstasios Boglou, President of the TEI of Kavala and Stelios Liontakis, President of the Cretan Fraternity of Kavala.
The event comprised film and sound documentaries as well as a photograph exhibition for Eleftherios Venizelos from the Foundation Archive, and a short music programme as well as Cretan dances.
